چکیده

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a polygenic chronic inflammatory condition that influences several body organs. While renal and dermatological changes are among the most common presentations of disease. The current study examines possible association between human Resistin (h-Res) signs disorder activities such as inflammation, function, lipids, Bone Mineral Density (BMD) in females with SLE. We performed cross-sectional research on 50 SLE diagnosed using American College Rheumatology (ACR) criteria. Forty were recruited controls. They matched following items, including gender mass index (BMI) age. In patients, we discovered statistically significant positive relationship h-Res levels ESR, CRP, Cr, ds-DNA, C3, duration steroid treatment, other variables. Disorder activity determined by systemic disease (SLEDAI) carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) (p-value <0.05). C3 to have negative relationship. case SLE, level can be used marker for Lupus Nephritis (LN) atherosclerosis. patients more aggressive therapy underlying process better control traditional risk factors may beneficial reducing atherosclerotic derangement. Re-Occurring Proteinuria in a SLE Patient: Always Lupus Nephritis?

Introduction: Renal disease, designated as lupus nephritis (LN), is one of the severe manifestations of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). The proliferative forms require aggressive treatment with corticosteroids and cytotoxic drugs. In a substantial number of patients, renal disease relapses after treatment. Case report: In this case report, we present a 27-year old woman, who had been treate...

Psychotic Symptoms in a Child with Long Standing SLE Nephritis: Neuropsychiatric Manifestation or Sequelae to Lupus?

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a prototypic autoimmune disease of unknown etiology, which affects multiple organ systems including the central nervous system (CNS). Though not common, childhood onset SLE is a known and established entity. Neuropsychiatric symptoms are common in childhood onset SLE. Of these, psychosis and behavioural symptoms are relatively rare, and there is no consensu...

Biomarker discovery in human SLE nephritis.

The treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) nephritis, while effective, is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. These side effects could be mitigated if the onset, severity, and response of renal flare could be predicted, and therapy modified accordingly. In this review, an approach to derive prediction equations of SLE nephritis flare is discussed. Integral to generatin...

Plasma C4d as marker for lupus nephritis in systemic lupus erythematosus

BACKGROUND In the present study, we sought to evaluate the complement activation product C4d as a marker for lupus nephritis in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). METHODS C4d levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in plasma samples of patients with established SLE using a novel approach based on detection of a short linear cleavage neoepitope. Cross-sectional association...
